if not in fullscreen mode are you using something else than the window_center() to place the window and you accidently place the game window outside the screen^^ You should still be able to see the game running in the taskmanager)Įlse most of case it should end with a failed and instead of showing the output tab, you shoud have the compile error with the errors (most of time some malformed statement or an unknown function, etc. (by default GMS2 center the game window, so you should see it.

Way I see the output window doesn't end with the failed/success line it's because the game is running^^ How is running a virtual desktop then, or running Windows programs through applications like Cross Over.Click to expand.what's written in your output window in the bottom (in case you closed it top menu->Windows->Output - but even closed, GMS2 should automatically reoppen it in a dialog box in your workspace/or in the tab in the bottom) Didn't know that Boot Camp required to fully restart your computer. Works great! Only true hassle is needing to restart back and forth.

PC laptops definitely give you better hardware for your buck, but my experiences with Dell, Lenovo, and HP laptops have shown me that better hardware doesn't mean much when it's not perfectly harmonious with the OS running on it.

My experience with OSX is limited, but I find things like iWork to be much better than Windows Office, battery life to be much longer than any PC laptop, and overall loading of programs to be much quicker. "I would only run Windows 7 for PC only games. Much cheaper, better/faster hardware, and it looks almost identical.

TL DR - Is it not a hassle to play casual/indie style games on a Macbook running Windows 7 either through a virtual desktop of Boot said: " If you are just going to run Windows on it then whats the point of paying extra for the Mac? Get one of the new HP Envy's when they come out and install OSX on it. I was just wondering if people's experience with playing games on Windows on a Macbook has been a smooth one. So I was thinking about the possibility of either running a virtual desktop or doing Boot Camp for the few games that only run on Windows. Most of these games (well, all of the games I have mentioned so far) have an OSX version, but there are a few titles that don't - like Crayon Physics Deluxe. Zombies and indie games such as Machinarium and Osmos.

I'm talking about smaller "casual" games like Plants vs.

Not titles like Left 4 Dead 2 or Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - I have a PC desktop and consoles for full retail games of that nature. My only worry is compatibility with games. The streamlined user interface for entertainment use coupled with the fact that I have a job where I do not need to be compatible with my company's PC infrastructure makes the MBP the best laptop for me to get right now. I've finally decided that I have enough cash to burn on a new Macbook Pro. "Just get a PC for gaming." - Let's just get that sentiment out of the way.
